Quick note

Sometimes you just want to write — a phone number while you’re on the phone, an idea that can’t wait, what someone just said. Stopping to choose a notebook, tab and page makes you lose the thought.

A Quick note creates a new page, already open and ready to type, without asking anything. You’ll find it in:

• On computer — in the ＋ Create button in the side navigation.
• On phone — in the floating + button on Home.
• On Android — by pressing and holding the app icon, without even opening it.

Where the note goes

Every account has its own notebook called “My notes”, always at the top of your library. That’s where quick notes land, in its base tab (General).

This notebook is your starting point: it can’t be deleted or archived, and its name is fixed — so you always know where to look. Everything else works like any other notebook: you can add tabs, drag pages around and organise it your way.

The title takes care of itself

The note is born with the date and time as its title (“Note from 18 Jul, 00:27”), so you never end up with a list of unnamed pages. As soon as you type, the first line of your text becomes the title — and keeps following what you write until you name the page yourself. From then on the name is yours and Totil leaves it alone.
