Writing on a page
A rich text editor with headings, lists, tables, quotes and more — plus mind maps.
Each page has a rich text editor. The toolbar gives you headings, bold and italic, bulleted and numbered lists, tables, quotes, colour, font, links and even videos (by pasting the address). What you write saves itself (you’ll see “Saved”).
Tip
You can paste tables and formatted text from other apps (email, websites, Word) — Totil converts them into the editor.
Images
Add images with the toolbar image button, by dragging a file onto the page, by pasting a screenshot, or by pasting content copied from a website or document. To keep pages light, very large images are resized as they come in, wherever they come from; a phone photo ends up small without losing readable quality.
- 1Resize it on the page: tap the image and drag one of the corner handles. You can also align it left, centre or right.
- 2View it large: double-tap the image. It opens full screen, over everything else.
- 3Zoom: on the phone, pinch outwards; on the computer, use the mouse wheel or the + and − buttons. While zoomed in, drag to move around.
- 4Close: with the ✕, the Esc key, or by swiping the image down.
Tip
With several images on the same page, the arrows (or swiping sideways) move between them without leaving full screen.
Note
Offline: images you have already seen on this device stay visible without a connection. An image you add while offline shows up on the page straight away and is saved once you are back online.
Mind maps
A page can also be a mind map — connected nodes that grow out of a central idea. Great for brainstorming and organising thoughts visually.
Pro only
Page version history (saving and restoring earlier versions) is a Pro Mode feature.
